The ELL312 course was unique in that it offered new venues for learning. Sharing ideas through blogs and video meetings was quite exciting despite the logistical limitations, technical difficulties, and time constraints that we encountered. I enjoyed group discussions with my friends and looked forward to receiving the comments /suggestions of Dr. Lorente and Dr. Tupas.
The process of exchanging views through these alternative means signifies that learning and teaching are not limited to the traditional classroom set-up. It may go beyond the walls and halls of the university through the use of available technology. Borders are crossed and bridges are built through an intellectual connection established by constant discussion, feedback, and exploration.
Through this experience, my perspective on LPP has broadened, my knowledge about its dimensions has deepened, and my view of the issues has widened. My awareness of LPP debates has been sharpened and my appreciation of LPP principles has been heightened. Before this course, I had a vague grasp of the actual problems and various LPP concerns. Now, I feel more equipped to evaluate language policies and programs with more critical eyes.
This course has helped me evaluate my dissertation proposal and explore its elements further. It has opened new doors that may guide me in defining my PhD direction. The materials we read and the topics we tackled were quite important in showing me the various aspects of LPP. Truly grateful to Dr. Lorente, Dr. Tupas, my friends Prixie, Heidi and Oliver and those who have supported us in this course.
